This quick and flavorful honey garlic chicken skillet is perfect for a fast weeknight dinner, combining savory, sweet, and tangy flavors in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or cutlets), cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste Salt and black pepper (to season)
  • 0.5 cup low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for GF)
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp cold water

Garnish

  • 2 scallions thinly sliced scallions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional) Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions 

  • Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a skillet, sear chicken 3-4 mins per side until cooked. Remove and set aside.
  • Whisk soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic. In another bowl, mix cornstarch and water.
  • Pour sauce into skillet, simmer, then whisk in cornstarch slurry until thickened. Return chicken to coat.
  • Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate chicken in some sauce before cooking.
