Ingredients

  • 2 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (or honey)
  • 0.25 cup BBQ sauce (optional, for glazing)
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder (optional for heat)
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional for citrus twist)

Instructions 

  • Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
  • Mix olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, and brown sugar or honey to create the marinade. Coat chicken and rest for 10–15 minutes.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (204°C). Place chicken in a single layer in the basket.
  • Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flip, then cook another 4–6 minutes. Brush with BBQ sauce during the last 2 minutes if using.
  • Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate longer or add your favorite herbs.
