Delight in flaky puff pastry filled with sweet apples, cinnamon, and creamy cheese for a perfect breakfast or treat.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 package Puff Pastry Sheets (thawed)

Filling

  • 8 ounce Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 medium Apples (peeled, cored, thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
  • to taste optional Powdered Sugar (for dusting)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares.
  • Mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth. Spread on pastry squares.
  • Top with sliced apples and drizzle with lemon juice and brown sugar.
  • Fold edges slightly to contain filling and brush with beaten egg mixed with milk.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Optional: dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, bake a few extra minutes and keep an eye on it.
