Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 large apples (diced)
  • vegetable oil vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 3 cup powdered sugar
  • cup milk (for glaze)

Instructions 

  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Add applesauce and milk to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  • Fold in diced apples.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of batter and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze. Drizzle over warm fritters before serving.
