Ingredients

Pasta

  • 400 grams pasta (penne, rigatoni, fusilli, spaghetti, or linguine) (Choose your favorite pasta shape)

Cooking Oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (For sautéing aromatics)

Meat

  • 500 grams lean ground beef (Substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option)

Aromatics

  • 1 medium onion (Builds a flavorful foundation)
  • 3 cloves garlic (Enhances savory depth)

Herbs

  • 1 teaspoon oregano (Dried herbs blend)
  • 1 teaspoon basil (Dried herbs blend)
  • 1 teaspoon thyme (Dried herbs blend)

Umami enhancer

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (Adds umami flavor)

Sauce

  • 1 can marinara sauce (Use high-quality canned or homemade)

Seasoning

  • to taste salt and pepper (Adjust to enhance flavors)

Cream

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (Adds creaminess and umami kick)

Fresh Herbs

  • 2 tablespoons parsley (Bright, herbaceous finishing touch)

Instructions 

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in dried herbs and soy sauce, cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Pour in marinara sauce, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in heavy cream and cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Combine cooked pasta with the sauce, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken and reduce cream.
