Instructions
Mix flour, butter, shortening, salt, and sugar in a food processor until coarse.
Add ice water gradually and pulse until dough comes together. Chill for 1 hour.
Cook pears in butter and sugar until caramelized, about 15-25 minutes. Cool completely.
Roll out dough, cover pears in skillet, and bake at 425°F until golden, 30-35 minutes. Invert onto serving plate.
Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream or ice cream.
