Ingredients

Flour

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Baking Powder

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Garlic Powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Black Pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cold Butter, cubed

  • 1/2 cup cold butter (Keep it cold for best results.)

Shredded Cheddar Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Milk

  • 3/4 cup milk

Melted Butter for brushing

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Fresh Parsley, chopped

  • to taste fresh parsley, chopped (Optional, for garnish.)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheddar cheese and milk until just combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or paprika to the dry ingredients.
