A quick and easy homemade chicken fried rice recipe perfect for busy weeknights. Packed with flavor and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into small cubes

Vegetables

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 green onions green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 cup frozen peas

Grains

  • 4 cups cooked rice (best if chilled overnight)

Sauces & Oils

  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions 

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet. Cook chicken until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Add garlic and carrots to the skillet; cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in peas and green onions; cook for 1 minute.
  • Add rice, soy sauce, and sesame oil; toss and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Return chicken to skillet; stir and cook for 2 minutes. Serve hot.

Notes

Use chilled rice for best texture and flavor.
