Ingredients

Marinade

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • to taste Salt and pepper Salt and pepper

Serving

  • as needed Pita bread or flatbread (for serving)
  • as needed Sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onion (for serving)
  • for garnish Chopped fresh parsley

Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • to taste Salt and pepper Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  • Mix yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, allspice, turmeric, salt, and pepper to make marinade.
  • Add chicken to marinade, refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat grill or oven to medium-high (400°F/200°C). Cook chicken 5-7 minutes per side on grill or bake 20-25 minutes in oven.
  • Prepare sauce by mixing mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper. Refrigerate until serving.
  • Slice cooked chicken thinly, serve on bread with vegetables and sauce, garnish with parsley.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for maximum flavor and tenderness.
