A rich and moist chocolate cake layered with creamy peanut butter frosting, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups cocoa powder
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Wet ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or any vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup oil (canola, vegetable, coconut, etc.)
  • 3 1/4 cups water (or milk)
  • 3 tablespoons milk (can use butter)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter (dairy free or regular)
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F. Grease three 8-inch pans.
  • Mix dry ingredients, then add wet ingredients and whisk until smooth.
  • Divide batter into pans and bake for 25-27 minutes. Cool completely.
  • Prepare frosting by beating butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until fluffy.
  • Layer and frost the cooled cakes. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use high-quality cocoa powder and fresh ingredients.
