Ingredients

Bread and Apples

  • 6 cups cubed day-old bread (approx. 300g)
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced (approx. 300g)

Sugars and Spices

  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar (100g)
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar (50g)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (5g)
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg (1g)

Wet Mixture

  • 2 cups milk (480ml)
  • 3 large eggs (approx. 150g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (5ml)
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted (56g)

Optional Glaze

  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar (60g)
  • 1-2 tbsp milk (15-30ml)
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract (1ml)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Combine bread and apples in a large bowl.
  • Whisk together sugars, spices, milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter. Pour over bread and apples; let sit 10 minutes.
  • Transfer to baking dish and bake 45-50 minutes until golden and set.
  • Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over pudding. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the pudding sit longer before baking.
