A delicious homemade sourdough bread with a crispy crust and chewy interior, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 500 grams bread flour (preferably bread flour)
  • 350 ml water (lukewarm)
  • 100 grams active sourdough starter (fed and bubbly)
  • 10 grams salt

Instructions 

  • Mix flour, water, sourdough starter, and salt until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Let the dough rest covered for 4 hours, performing a stretch and fold every 30 minutes.
  • Shape the dough into a round and let it proof for 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 230°C (450°F) with a Dutch oven inside.
  • Score the dough, place it in the hot Dutch oven, and bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 15 minutes.

Notes

Use a banneton basket for shaping if available for a better crust.
