A quick and creamy pasta dish combining pesto and cottage cheese for a flavorful, protein-packed meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 1 lb orecchiette pasta (or pasta of your choice)

Sauce

  • 1 cup basil pesto
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (I recommend 2% or 4%)
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water

Seasoning

  • to taste Kosher salt and black pepper

Garnish

  • as desired crushed red pepper flakes, fresh basil, Parmesan cheese

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; reserve 1 cup of water, then drain.
  • Blend pesto, cottage cheese, and 1/2 cup of reserved water until smooth; season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix the sauce with cooked pasta until well coated; garnish and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh basil for best flavor and adjust seasoning to taste.
