Cottage Cheese Mushroom Dip Recipe

A creamy, savory dip combining mushrooms, cottage cheese, and Parmesan, perfect for sharing at gatherings.

Ingredients

olive oil

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

onion

  • ½ medium onion (thinly sliced)

mushrooms

  • 1 cup diced brown or white mushrooms (about 5-6 large mushrooms)

thyme leaves

  • ¼ tsp chopped fresh thyme leaves (from about 2 thyme sprigs)

cream cheese

  • 8.8 ounces cream cheese (about 1 cup and a bit, at room temperature)

cottage cheese

  • 1 cup cottage cheese

parmesan cheese

  • cup grated parmesan cheese

garlic powder

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese (divided)

Instructions 

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onions until translucent (~3 min).
  • Add mushrooms and thyme; cook until lightly brown (~4-5 min). Set aside.
  • Blend cream cheese and cottage cheese until smooth.
  • Mix in parmesan and garlic powder. Fold in mushroom mixture and ¾ cup mozzarella. Transfer to dish, top with remaining mozzarella.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 min. Broil 2-3 min until golden. Let sit 10 min before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with crackers or bread for a delicious appetizer.
