Ingredients

Dairy and Eggs

  • 4 cups milk
  • 6 eggs eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp butter, melted

Spices and Flavorings

  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 2 Tbsp orange zest

Sugar and Cranberries

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups fresh cranberries

Bread and Toppings

  • 1 loaf thick bread, cubed (day old/crusty bread like brioche recommended)
  • 1-1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 Tbsp orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 tsp orange zest (optional) (for glaze flavor)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.
  • Layer half of bread, sprinkle cranberries, then top with remaining bread.
  • Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, spices, sugar, and orange zest; pour over bread.
  • Let sit for 25 minutes, then bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and center jiggles slightly.
  • Mix melted butter, powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest for glaze; drizzle over slices.

Notes

Use day-old crusty bread like brioche for best texture. Adjust glaze sugar for desired thickness.
