A bold and flavor-packed dinner featuring tender chicken and creamy Cajun sauce over pasta.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
2
fillets
chicken
(quick to cook and absorb the cajun seasoning well.)
1
tablespoon
olive oil
(adds a mild flavor and helps sear the chicken evenly.)
1
tablespoon
cajun seasoning
(key to the dish’s bold flavor.)
12
oz
pasta
(penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti.)
2
tablespoons
unsalted butter
(forms the base of the creamy sauce.)
1
cup
heavy cream
(makes the sauce velvety and rich.)
½
cup
chicken broth
(adds a savory base to the sauce.)
¼
cup
grated parmesan cheese
(adds a salty, umami depth to the sauce.)
Instructions
Season chicken with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Sear in olive oil until cooked through.
Cook pasta in salted water until al dente, then reserve some pasta water before draining.
Melt butter in the skillet, sauté garlic, then add Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika.
Stir in heavy cream and chicken broth, simmer until thickened, then add parmesan cheese.
Toss cooked pasta and sliced chicken in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
Garnish with parsley and serve with a squeeze of lemon juice.
Notes
For a seafood twist, substitute chicken with shrimp.
