  • 2-3 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (halved horizontally to create 4 pieces)
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 head garlic (peeled and separated into 10-12 cloves)
  • 1 1/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream (or half-and-half or evaporated milk)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then dredge in flour.
  • Heat olive oil and cook chicken until golden and cooked through, then set aside.
  • Sauté onion and garlic in butter until fragrant, then add chicken broth and heavy cream, simmering until slightly thickened.
  • Return chicken to the sauce, sprinkle with parmesan, and cook for a few more minutes. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use freshly grated parmesan and high-quality cream.
