Creamy Mushroom Chicken Pasta Recipe

A delicious and creamy pasta dish featuring tender chicken and sautéed mushrooms, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your favorite)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Chicken

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into strips
  • Salt and pepper Salt and pepper, to taste

Sauce and Vegetables

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (cremini or baby bella)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme (optional)

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Season chicken with salt and pepper. Cook in a skillet with olive oil until golden. Remove and set aside.
  • Melt butter in the same skillet. Sauté mushrooms for 5–6 minutes. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  • Pour in chicken broth, then add cream, Parmesan, and thyme. Simmer until thickened. Return chicken and pasta, toss to coat.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
