Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast (2 large breasts)

Dairy & Fats

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 4 large garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 yellow onion yellow onion (finely minced)
  • 3-4 ounces roasted red peppers (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Broth & Stocks

  • 1/2 cup chicken stock (non-alcoholic)

Herbs & Seasonings

  • Salt Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper Black pepper (to taste)

Fresh Basil

  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves (packed, plus more for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Pat chicken dry, season with salt and pepper, then sear in a skillet until golden and cooked through.
  • Melt butter in the same skillet, sauté garlic, onion, red peppers, paprika, and red pepper flakes until fragrant.
  • Add chicken stock, scraping browned bits, and simmer briefly.
  • Reduce heat, stir in heavy cream and Parmesan until smooth, season with salt and pepper.
  • Return chicken to skillet, warm in sauce, then stir in basil. Garnish and serve.

Notes

Use fresh basil for the best flavor and garnish generously.
