Instructions
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant, then add mushrooms and cook until tender.
Pour in chicken broth, bring to a simmer, then add shredded chicken and cook for 10 minutes.
Stir in heavy cream gradually, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Notes
For a thicker soup, blend a portion before adding cream.
