  • 1 piece French baguette
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional grated Parmesan or mozzarella cheese for topping (Optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice baguette into 1/2-inch thick rounds and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Mix softened butter, olive oil, garlic, parsley, oregano, and salt until well combined.
  • Spread the garlic herb butter over each baguette slice and sprinkle with cheese if desired.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and crisp. Broil for 1-2 minutes for extra crunch, watching carefully.
  • Serve warm, garnished with extra parsley if desired.

Notes

For best results, use fresh herbs and watch closely during broiling to prevent burning.
