A quick and flavorful chicken dish glazed with honey and garlic, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 pieces skin-on bone-in chicken thighs (or boneless skinless thighs)
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil (or any neutral oil)
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.75 tsp garlic powder
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 0.25 cup honey (or maple syrup/brown sugar/light corn syrup if allergic)
  • 3 tbsp water (cold)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or white vinegar or apple cider vinegar)
  • 0.5 tbsp soy sauce (regular)
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (or potato starch/tapioca starch)

Instructions 

  • Debone the chicken thighs and pat dry.
  • Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Mix honey, garlic, water, vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame oil to make the sauce.
  • Cook chicken skin-side down in oil until golden, then flip and cook through. Add sauce and simmer until thickened.
  • Flip chicken briefly to absorb sauce, garnish with green onions, then slice and serve.

Notes

Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
