A quick and delicious apple-filled Danish pastry that combines flaky crescent rolls with sweet cinnamon apples and a simple icing.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 3 tbsp butter (melted and divided)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3-4 apples apples (golden delicious)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp butter (softened)

Instructions 

  • Cook apples with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until tender. Set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Unroll crescent dough, seal triangles into rectangles, brush with butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
  • Roll dough from long side, seal edges, and form a spiral. Place on baking sheet lined with parchment.
  • Create a well in the center of each spiral, add apple filling, then bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
  • Mix confectioner's sugar with milk and softened butter to make icing. Drizzle over cooled danishes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use fresh apples and adjust baking time as needed.
