Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Core and slice the apples, then toss with lemon juice and place in a baking dish.
Mix cinnamon, brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt; melt butter and vanilla, then pour over apples.
Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture over apples and stir to coat.
Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes, then remove foil and bake 10 more minutes.
Notes
Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor.
