Delight in tender pears infused with warm chai spices, topped with caramelized syrup, whipped cream, and toasted hazelnuts for a cozy dessert.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 4 pieces Bosc pears or Anjou pears (ripe but firm)
  • 4.5 cups boiling water
  • 6 tea bags chai tea bags (e.g., Tetley vanilla chai)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 0.25 cup toasted hazelnuts (roughly chopped)
  • 1 cup whipping cream (optional)

Instructions

  • Steep tea bags in boiling water for 8-10 minutes, then remove and stir in honey.
  • Re-boil the tea-infused water.
  • Peel pears, leaving stems attached, and trim bottoms if needed for stability.
  • Add pears to boiling tea, simmer on low for 15 minutes, then rotate and simmer another 15 minutes. For stronger flavor, soak off heat for 1 hour.
  • Remove pears, reduce syrup until thickened (35-45 mins), then pour over pears. Top with whipped cream and hazelnuts.

Notes

For a richer flavor, soak the pears in the syrup for an hour off heat.
