A simple and delicious apple crisp made in a skillet, perfect for a cozy dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 5 pieces apples (peeled and cored)
  • 0.5 lemon juice from 1/2 lemon

Oils and sweeteners

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil (melted)
  • 1.5 tbsp honey (or maple syrup if vegan)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg

Topping

  • 0.67 cup coconut oil (melted)
  • 0.25 tbsp honey (or maple syrup if vegan)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch pinch salt
  • 1.33 cup almond flour
  • 0.67 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 0.67 cup walnuts (roughly chopped)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
  • Peel, core, and chop apples; toss with lemon juice.
  • Cook coconut oil, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in skillet for 2 minutes; add apples and stir.
  • Cook apples for 8 minutes until soft.
  • Mix topping ingredients; spread over apples and bake for 10 minutes until golden.
  • Serve warm topped with coconut whip or lemon cream.

Notes

Use vegan-friendly sweeteners and toppings for a vegan version.
