Ground Beef Shawarma Rice

A flavorful Middle Eastern-inspired dish combining spiced ground beef with aromatic rice and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped finely
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • juice of half a lemon lemon juice
  • 750 g ground beef
  • 1 tsp oil

Vegetables

  • 1 large white onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • cumin cumin
  • smoked paprika smoked paprika
  • soy sauce soy sauce
  • salt and pepper salt and pepper
  • turmeric turmeric

Rice

  • 1 cup rice
  • turmeric powder turmeric powder

Vegetables for garnish

  • 1 cucumber sliced cucumber
  • tomatoes, sliced sliced tomatoes
  • onion, sliced sliced onion

Instructions 

  • Blend mayo, water, garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon juice until smooth. Set aside.
  • Cook rice with 1 tsp turmeric in a rice cooker until done.
  • Sauté garlic and onion in oil until translucent. Add beef and cook until browned. Season with soy sauce, cumin, turmeric, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until liquid evaporates.
  • Serve beef over rice, drizzle with garlic sauce, and garnish with sliced cucumber, tomatoes, and onions.

Notes

Adjust seasoning to taste and enjoy!
