Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth or water

Garlic Butter Rice

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions 

  • Rinse rice, then cook in water or broth with salt until tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Make garlic butter: melt butter, add minced garlic, cook briefly, then pour over cooked rice and fluff.
  • Cook onion in oil until translucent, add garlic, then ground turkey; cook until browned.
  • Season turkey with paprika, oregano, salt, pepper; add soy sauce and broth, simmer 4-5 minutes.
  • Serve garlic butter rice topped with seasoned turkey; garnish with parsley or green onions if desired.

Notes

Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm for a comforting meal.
