Homemade Garlic Butter Breadsticks

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110-115 F)
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter for brushing
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions 

  • Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit 5-10 mins until frothy. Add melted butter, salt, and half the flour; mix and knead until smooth (~7-10 mins).
  • Oil a bowl, place dough inside, cover, and let rise 1-1.5 hours until doubled. Punch down, shape into logs, and cut into 16-18 pieces. Roll each into 7-inch logs.
  • Arrange on a greased parchment-lined sheet, cover, and let rise 1 hour. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush breadsticks with melted butter.
  • Bake for 14-15 mins until golden. Brush warm breadsticks with garlic butter mixed with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle grated Parmesan on top before baking.
