A quick and flavorful chicken dish with a sticky honey lemon garlic sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Marinate your chicken

  • 2 pieces chicken thigh, skin on and boneless (Salt and pepper to season)

For The Sauce

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 piece lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Garnish

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chives

Instructions 

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper, coat lightly with cornstarch.
  • Heat oil in a pan, cook chicken skin-side down for 7 minutes per side until crispy.
  • Melt butter in the same pan, sauté garlic for 1 minute, then add soy, mirin, honey, lemon juice, and zest. Simmer until thickened.
  • Return chicken to pan, spoon sauce over, and simmer for 2 minutes to coat.
  • Serve over steamed rice, garnish with sesame seeds and chives.

Notes

Dry the chicken with a paper towel before seasoning for extra crispiness.
