Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings

  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings (approximately 12 wings)
  • 0.5 tablespoon aluminum-free baking powder (omit if deep frying)
  • 0.5 tablespoon potato starch (or substitute with corn starch)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika

For the Hot Honey Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2-4 tablespoons hot sauce (use your favorite, like Habanero or Frank’s Red Hot)
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt (optional, based on the hot sauce used)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (any type works, spicy honey adds an extra kick)

Instructions

  • Pat wings dry, then toss with baking powder, potato starch, garlic salt, seasoned salt, black pepper, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or air fryer to 400°F. Cook wings for 20 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter in a skillet, stir in hot sauce and honey, and cook until slightly thickened. Add salt if desired.
  • Transfer cooked wings to a bowl, pour hot honey sauce over, and toss to coat. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure wings are thoroughly dried before seasoning.
