Ingredients

Sauce ingredients

  • 1.25 cups Florida Orange Juice
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.75 teaspoon red pepper flakes ((to taste))
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper ((to taste))
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 0.25 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish (optional))

Chicken wings

  • 3 pounds chicken wing sections
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes ((optional))

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (400°F for air fryer). Line a baking sheet with parchment and place a cooling rack on top.
  • Dry wings, toss with oil and seasonings. Arrange on rack and bake for 30-40 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Meanwhile, combine orange juice, honey, red pepper flakes, cayenne, orange zest, and vinegar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer 3-5 minutes.
  • Whisk cornstarch and water, then slowly add to sauce while whisking until desired thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Once wings are cooked, toss in hot honey orange sauce. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust red pepper flakes to taste for spiciness.
