Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 oz Penne Pasta (Can substitute with fusilli, rigatoni, or farfalle.)

Chicken

  • 2 pieces Chicken Breasts (Trim and slice into 1/2-inch strips.)

Dairy & Fats

  • 2 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted based on preference.)
  • 8 oz Mushrooms (Opt for cremini or button.)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (Freshly minced for best results.)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (Use cold or at room temperature.)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated recommended.)
  • 1 tsp Thyme (Fresh or dried based on availability.)

To taste

  • to taste Pepper (Freshly cracked.)

Instructions 

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until fragrant and mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour in heavy cream, add Parmesan cheese and thyme. Stir well and simmer for 3-5 minutes until sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Combine cooked pasta with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly and serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
