Enjoy crispy, flavorful Korean fried chicken bites coated in a spicy, sweet sauce, perfect for sharing or a satisfying snack.

Ingredients

Main

  • 1.5 pounds boneless chicken thighs or breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 eggs beaten eggs
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

For the Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons water

Optional Garnishes

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions green onions, finely sliced

Instructions 

  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Dredge chicken in egg, then coat with flour mixture. Rest for 5–10 minutes.
  • Fry in batches for 4–5 minutes, rest, then fry again for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Simmer sauce ingredients for 3–4 minutes until glossy. Toss chicken in sauce or drizzle before serving.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double fry the chicken.
