A rich and sweet pecan pie infused with pure maple syrup, perfect for special occasions or cozy desserts.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 ¼ cups all purpose flour (plus more for rolling out the dough)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chilled unsalted butter (cut into small cubes)
  • ¼ cup ice water (plus more, if needed)

Filling

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (cut into pieces)
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • cup pure maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon maple extract OR vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped pecans (toasted, if desired)

Additional

  • non-stick baking spray
  • flaky finishing salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the pie crust by mixing flour, sugar, salt, and butter, then add ice water to form dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough and fit into a pie dish, then pre-bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes.
  • Combine butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, eggs, and extract; then stir in toasted pecans.
  • Pour filling into pre-baked crust and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 minutes until set.
  • Let cool, then sprinkle with finishing salt and serve with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a crunchier crust, blind bake the crust for 10 minutes before adding the filling.
