Instructions
Activate yeast: Mix yeast, warm milk, and 1 tsp sugar; let sit 10-15 mins until foamy.
Mix dry ingredients: Combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
Add egg, cooled melted butter, and yeast mixture; stir to form a sticky dough. Cover and refrigerate overnight (8-12 hours).
Next day, divide dough into 16 pieces, shape into balls, and place in a greased pan. Cover and let rise at room temperature for 1-1.5 hours.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 18-20 mins until golden brown. Cool slightly and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure the milk is just warm to activate the yeast without killing it.
