Batter
1cupunsalted butter
2cupsgranulated sugar
4largeeggs
1teaspoonvanilla extract
1cupall-purpose flour
1cupunsweetened cocoa powder
1teaspoonsalt
1cupchocolate chips (optional)
Ganache
1cupheavy cream
8ouncessemi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1tablespoonunsalted butter
1teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter in skillet, then stir in sugar and eggs. Mix in vanilla, fold in dry ingredients, and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Heat heavy cream until simmering, then add chopped chocolate. Let sit, then stir in butter and vanilla to make ganache. Cool slightly.
Pour ganache over cooled brownies and spread evenly before serving.
