Instructions
Ensure the butter is very cold; chill in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
Mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter (cubed or grated) and cut in until coarse crumbs form.
Stir in cheese and chives. Add buttermilk gradually, mixing until just combined and a shaggy dough forms.
Scoop ¼ cup portions onto the baking sheet. Bake for 15-17 minutes until golden brown.
