Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Pickle juice
  • 1 quart Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Hot sauce
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

Instructions 

  • Marinate chicken in buttermilk and pickle juice for at least 1 hour.
  • Mix flour, cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for coating.
  • Dredge chicken in seasoned flour and set aside.
  • Fry chicken in hot oil at 350°F for 12–15 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  • Mix melted butter, hot sauce, and brown sugar; brush over cooked chicken.

Notes

Adjust spice level by varying cayenne pepper.
