A delicious and easy-to-make taco salad perfect for a quick meal or gathering. Loaded with fresh ingredients and flavorful seasonings, it's a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (Or homemade taco seasoning)
  • 0.5 cup water (To mix with taco seasoning)
  • 0.5 tsp salt (To taste)

vegetables and toppings

  • 1 head romaine lettuce (Chopped into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (Halved)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (Can substitute with low-fat cheese)
  • 1 cup black beans (Drained and rinsed)
  • 0.5 cup corn kernels (Drained or fresh)
  • 1 red onion (Finely diced)
  • 1 cup tortilla chips (Crushed or tortilla strips)
  • 1 lime lime wedges (For squeezing over the salad)
  • 0.5 cup sour cream (Or Greek yogurt)
  • 0.5 cup salsa (Fresh or jarred)
  • 1 avocado avocado (Sliced)
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro (Chopped for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Brown the ground beef and season it with taco seasoning and water.
  • Chop vegetables and prepare toppings.
  • Layer cooked beef, vegetables, cheese, beans, corn, and crushed chips in a bowl.
  • Add lime juice, sour cream, salsa, avocado, and cilantro on top.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a healthier option, use low-fat cheese and Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
