Ingredients

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, then stir in hot water and chocolate chips.
Scoop dough onto baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-9 minutes.
Cool cookies on sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
For extra chewy cookies, slightly underbake and let sit for a few minutes before transferring.
