This homemade vanilla pudding is rich, creamy, and easy to make from scratch, perfect for a comforting dessert.
Ingredients

Instructions
In a saucepan, combine egg yolks, sugars, salt, and cornstarch.
Whisk in cold milk until smooth, then heat remaining milk with vanilla bean seeds and pod until bubbling.
Temper hot milk into egg mixture, then cook over medium heat, whisking until thickened.
Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla extract if using a vanilla bean.
Cover with plastic wrap, chill for at least 2 hours, then whisk before serving.
Notes
For an ultra-smooth texture, strain the pudding before chilling.
