Delicious homemade garlic knots made with whole wheat flour, perfect for a flavorful snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2.5 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
  • 2 cups One Degree Organics Sprouted Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour or more whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil plus more for brushing
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

Garnish

  • to taste Fresh Parsley, Chili Flakes (optional) (for garnish)
  • optional Marinara Sauce (for dipping)

Instructions 

  • Combine warm water, yeast, and maple syrup; let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add garlic powder, salt, and flour; mix until well combined.
  • Knead dough for 5 minutes, then let rise in a warm place covered for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F; line baking sheet with parchment.
  • Divide dough, roll into strips, tie knots, place on sheet, and bake 18-24 minutes until golden.
  • Brush knots with olive oil and garlic, garnish with parsley and chili flakes, serve with marinara.

Notes

For extra flavor, brush with garlic-infused olive oil before baking.
